Japanese Orgy Parties, Then and Now Part Three

Asagei Fuuzoku - Original Japanese Date: March 24th, 2015
English Translation Published: August 28th, 2015

Adult parties where willing and able participants can engage in group sexual play have been popular with a certain subculture of Japanese this last decade.

(Translator's note: This post is a continuation of a previous entry.)

We now hear from a regular customer at these kinds of events:

8 years ago I was at a party with 60 men and 15 women. There were tons and tons of condoms for us to use. It was a big event that took up an entire floor of an upscale hotel and even guests from floors below came up to join in after getting wind of what was going on. We actually had a view of a show Go Hiromi was putting on at the time.

At about the 90 minute mark, most men have had their fill and break for a bit. However, the women present usually are still eager for more. Unfortunately, all the available 'poles' are in recovery mode. I knew about this beforehand so I waited on standby.

This regular customer knew the ropes as well as any staff member and had some high quality solo time.

Surprisingly, many of these adult parties are less about making money and more about having fun with one's hobby. Nevertheless, the risk of being caught by the authorities remains a serious possibility. The lawyer we talked with previously continues:

From what I recall, the act of having an orgy is not illegal. Everyone is there taking part by their own free will so there are no victims. However, there are some very conservative people nowadays who would love to see the laws revised to ban what they are doing.

An editor of a popular brothel magazine remarks on these parties:

It all started with private coffee shops. For adult parties, the origins can be found in shops in Osaka. There, 'couple swapping' circles were formed for people who got off on cuckolding.

Eventually, single men were invited into the mix.

You'd actually see small advertisements for adult parties in the evening edition of some newspapers about 10 years back. Of course now thanks to the internet, the technology for making these parties to known to people who want to attend is much more advanced. These events can afford to be considerably more private now.

Adult parties are not a new phenomenon and date back quite far into Japan's history. Summer around Obon is when most have been held. Laws and regulations may try to clamp down on them, but it's very difficult to forbid natural culture from existing.

(Translator's note: the law will never be able to clamp down on willing and able people simply wanting to have a good time together sans clothing. Besides, adult activities such as orgy parties are generally ignored by the police as there are no victims. Occasionally you see them cracking down on these types of events, but it's almost always temporary due to conflicting orders by confused politicians.)
